Kunowice in brief

Kunowice was first recorded in 1337 as Kunersdorf, a village in the Brandenburg Neumark. On 12 August 1759 the Battle of Kunersdorf of the Seven Years' War was fought here, and the Prussian army of Frederick II, about 48,000 strong, was defeated by Russian and Austrian forces under Pyotr Saltykov and Ernst Laudon.
